Per-endpoint credit cost
Every endpoint, what it costs, and why. Free endpoints are control-plane only — listing your jobs or webhooks doesn't burn credits.

The two-stage rule on POST /v1/search/with-details: stage
one runs the geo/filter search and bills 12 credits per page;
stage two fetches the full Stay record for each hit and bills 1
credit per detail row. A search that returns 30 hits and asks for
full detail costs 12 + 30 = 42 credits.

Frequently asked questions
- What counts as a credit?
- One credit per record returned on a successful (2xx) call. Most single-stay lookups return one record (1 credit). The by-address endpoint costs 3 credits per call because we resolve the address upstream. A search call costs 12 credits per page of up to 50 results — search runs are heavier upstream than detail lookups. Failed calls (4xx/5xx) are free.
- What happens when I run out?
- Calls return 402 out_of_credits. Top up at /app/billing or wait for your plan to renew. Free accounts pause until you upgrade.
- Do credits expire?
- No. Leftover credits roll forward when your subscription renews, and top-up credits stack on top.
- Can I get a refund?
- Subscription refunds via Stripe — email support@stayingapi.com. Top-up packs are non-refundable once delivered, but the credits never expire.
- What about rate limits?
- Separate from credits. Each plan has a per-minute request cap. Free is 20 req/min, Monthly 200, Annual 300. See the Quickstart for details and Enterprise tier (1500 req/min) limits.
- How fresh is the data?
- Every call reflects the upstream's current state. Most detail responses come back in well under 200ms; search endpoints run live against the upstream's latest index.
- Can I cancel anytime?
- Yes. Monthly cancels stop the next renewal — you keep the credits you've paid for through the end of the current cycle. Annual plans cancel at term end by default; contact support for pro-rata refunds.
